These are some of our special needs kittens and cats. Some have had surgeries and are now a little different but do not need any special on-going care (amputations, enucleations, etc). Some had on-going medical needs and are searching for a special family that is willing to accomodate that. And, some are very very shy with strangers and need a quiet home with a patient and understanding family to help them settle in and acclimate.
Bocelli - 5 year old "Russian blue" - like boy who got hit by a car and suffered major facial trauma. After a week in the hospital and surgery to repair a broken jaw his parents decided they couldn’t deal with a blind cat. Feeling bad for him for getting through the worst of his injuries already his foster mother offered to take him over and was accepted.
Hes had a broken jaw repaired, several broken teeth removed, recovered from head (ie brain) trauma, and then finally - bring already totally blind from the accident, he developed cataracts and had his eyes removed to avoid future problems.
He’s come through a lot and now gets around very well, enjoys lap time and attention and is ready for a forever home who can accept him as an indoor only, blind cat.
Westley - 7 month old DSH black - hit by a car which caused a fractured pelvis prior to being found and taken to us. Has had 2 major surgeries to open up his pelvic canal so he can defecate. Doing very well now but very shy and needs quiet, understanding home
Astrid - she's about 6 years old now and has become very fat. She needs to find a home where she can be strictly meal fed (which just can't happen in her current foster home unless she were to be completely isolated and confined to a small room) to allow her to lose weight and be healthy. see adults
